The George Inn is a traditional 16th Century Free House located in the pretty village of Brompton Regis on the southern slopes of the Brendon Hills in the beautiful Exmoor National Park. Exmoor National Park has been designated the first International Dark Sky Reserve in Europe! - The George Inn is the highest pub on exmoor whereby you can enjoy this experience.
You will be guaranteed a warm, friendly welcome to our cosy en-suite rooms, quality wholesome pub food and well kept ales. There is also a private, self-catering cottage for rent. Exmoor is a wonderfully peaceful place to get away from it all and relax. For those wishing to get to know the local area on foot, by bicycle or by car, we can help you with directions or even lend you a map. In the entrance hall we provide a wide selection of brochures on attractions and things to do in the area to help you plan your days out.

With easy access to Dunster famous for its castle, Minehead and the West Somerset Steam Railway, and Dulverton where you will find the Headquarters of the Exmoor National Park, the George Inn is the ideal starting point for discovering the history and culture of this beautiful area. With Wimbleball Lake just over 1 mile away, the George is perfectly placed for a variety of watersports and other outdoor pursuits. There are excellent facilities close by for, fishing, horse riding rambling and stargazing (as Exmoor has been designated a Dark Sky area). In addition the stunning coastline of North Devon and Somerset is within easy reach with high rugged cliffs and deep shadowy valleys.
